With Gratitude, Matt
Gratitude—the profound sense of thankfulness—often emerges from recognizing the blessings, privileges, or serendipities life bestows. While a diagnosis like cancer is rarely seen as a cause for gratitude, Matt Moran felt otherwise. His battle with kidney cancer inspired him to launch this podcast in 2020, a platform where life lessons, faith, and resilience shine through adversity. Every episode shares stories of hope and determination, revealing how gratitude can guide us through life’s toughest challenges. Following Matt’s passing in 2023, his older brother, Bill, stepped in to continue the mission, ensuring the podcast remains a beacon of inspiration. Together, the Moran brothers’ legacy encourages us all to embrace life’s journey with faith, hope, and a grateful heart.

A COVID-19 Story and the Lasting Effects, with Dr. Robert Cleary
In early March 2020, Dr. Cleary, a board-certified general, colon and rectal surgeon in Ann Arbor Michigan, had just received a warning from a colleague in Seattle about the rampant COVID-19 cases. He and his team quickly put a plan together to manage their cancer patients and cancel elective surgeries. But within days, Dr. Cleary had come down with COVID-19 that began to infect his lungs and landed him in the ICU for 12 days. During those 12 days, he knew he was close to death and prepared goodbye letters for his wife and 6 kids. A difficult and challenging time for sure, but Robert was surrounded by the talented staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital and by his faith. Listen into the heartwarming story about Dr. Cleary’s experience recovering from COVID-19 and how his life changed. It is informative, inspiring, and emotional.
